Stamshaw and Tipner Community Centre

We’ve used the Stamshaw and Tipner Community Centre the for last two birthday parties. The price is really reasonable for hiring the hall, the staff and incredibly friendly and helpful and the space is a decent size (easily holds tables and chairs, speaker, bouncy castle and loads of kids!). We also use the centre every Thursday for Karate. The same hall is used and it’s a good space for the kids or practice in. I’d recommend both the kids karate here and hiring the hall. I’ve only knocked one star off because the toilets are looking a little run down these days. They are always very clean they just need a lick of paint I think.

We went to an infants birthday party and the hall is big enough to house a huge bouncy castle and various other play areas. Enough for the thirty or so young children to have plenty of space to enjoy themselves in. There is a very large outside garden / play area, with safety in mind as it has tall fencing all around and a locked gate. Inside there is a bar area which sold ice cold cans of cider and beer at £3 each. The hall and bar staff were very friendly and there was plenty of seating for the adults. Parking is to the rear of the hall and you can only park in un-numbered bays whilst showing a parking permit which you receive free from the hall's office. All in all, an excellent venue.

We visited for a friends engagement party. We struggled to find any parking and the car park adjacent is for residents of the adjoining flats bar a few spaces which were filled when we got there. Prices were good though and the staff were nice. As someone who is not local it would have been nice to have had more designated parking rather than having to drive the streets looking for parking when all I wanted to do was enjoy a night celebrating my friends engagement and it really put a damper on what was otherwise an enjoyable night. If you’re going to visit here then take a taxi!

Ideal for a kids birthday party, plenty of room for them to run about. Parking is limited and you have to pay a returnable deposit for a parking permit. Staff were very helpful and supply tea, coffee and soft drinks for a nominal cost.
